12TH JANUARY 2002 WESTELLA & WILLERBY 9 V 1 HEDON UNITED Westella cruised to victory against a struggling Hedon side. Chris Edmonds opened the scoring after Nicky Laughton rounded the keeper and Edmonds got the final touch to give Westella the lead in the 16th minute. Goals from Edmonds (pen), Andy Outram, Nicky Laughton, and Scott Clark saw Westella go in at half time 5-0 up. Nicky Laughton made it 6-0 after his early shot hit the post and Edmonds crossed the ball back for him to head home. That has now seen Nicky Laughton score 17 goals in as many games! Hedon got one back through Pindar when he headed in from 10 yards out. In the 78th minute, promising 16 year old, Lee Humphries grabbed his first goal for the club as his shot flew into the top corner. Lee is one player Westella will it find hard to hold on to. Chris Blenkin completed the scoring with a volley from the edge of the area and a header from close range.
