RECKITTS FC 4 V 3 WESTELLA & WILLERBY

Westella opened the scoring early on after Robinson's freekick when straight in off the far post to give the away side the lead after 5 minutes. Robinson could have extended the lead when he was put clear but a poor first touch gave the keeper a clear advantage. Reckitts applied relentless pressure and it took a defensive mistake to leave Cairns with a tap in into an empty net. An excellent one-two saw Darren McGrath put Turay though on goal and he beat the oncoming keeper to put the visitors 2-1 up within 44 minutes. Reckitts went straight on the offensive and from a corner, which was failed to be cleared, saw Lapping in space put past the keeper, and both teams go in level at the break. Westella came out a completely different team after a poor first half and were quickly in front again. Two minutes after the break Westella got their passing game going and again it was Darren McGrath who put Turay through to slot home in the far bottom corner. Reckitts again equalised quickly and in the 56th minute Tennison played Geraghty in and after his first shot was saved he was on hand to put in the equaliser. Reckitts applied more pressure and after what seemed the faintest of touches in the penalty area the referee awarded a penalty. It was the correct decision as G. Morfit stayed on his feet and maybe could have gone down quite easily. Cairns coolly slotted home the spot kick. The game petered out with neither side creating anymore chances.
